Essential Oils Backache Blend Recipe

Below is a recipe using essential oils to quell backaches. The oils used are soothing and balancing. Lavender is relaxing. Lemon is balancing and rosemary is great for pain.

Essential Oils Backache Blend

• 15 drops lavender essential oil
• 5 drops lemon essential oil
• 10 drops rosemary essential oil

Blend above essential oils into 1 oz carrier oil, such as almond oil. Massage into affected area of back as needed.
OR
Bedtime Remedy - Add a few drops to warm bath water and soak for 10-20 minutes. 

Detox Bath with Essential Oils - easy true and tried recipe

An easy alternative with my own modifications, but originally posted from http://healthylivinghowto.com and Dr. Oz for Bath Salts detoxification -

I took a bath last night following this recipe and felt relaxed and rested!

Detox Bath Recipe

To a Full bath tub of hot water - enough to create a sweat, but not scald, add:

• 5-10 drops Essential Oil/s, ie: Lavender, Chamomile, Geranium, Rosemary, Peppermint, etc
• 1 1/2 - 2 cups Epsom Salts
• Optional - add  1/2 - 1 cup of baking soda to neutralize chlorinated water and increase mineral absorption.
• Optional - dash of sea or Himalayan sea salt for mineral content 

Soak for 15-20 minutes and take a cool shower afterwards.

Epsom salt is made up of magnesium and sulfate which are naturally occurring minerals. This helps to flush the body of toxins and regulate enzymes within the body.

Essential Oil recipes for cleaning your Spa or Hot Tub ?

So, I have been looking for something other than chlorine or bromine for our hot tub. I have read articles about soaking the filters in Thieves (which I make my own version) and adding Tea Tree, Geranium, Lavender and/or Lemon Essential Oils to the tub itself to sanitize. I read about them and thought it was worth a shot.

I have been using limited chemical substances (potassium mono-sulfate) and either a few drops of Geranium or Tea Tree once per week. We put these in separately after a soak. The water seems to be fairly clear - not drinkable though.

Does anyone else have experience with Essential Oil use in the hut tub ?

Can Aromatherapy from the Scent of Certain Essential Oils Influence Your Buying and Eating Habits ?

There have been studies on essential oils that are diffused in say - a mall or restaurant - that affect peoples' buying and ordering habits. Specific odors/smells trigger messages to the brain which may influence behaviors.

Studies with animals, elders, children, etc have been conducted where certain oils diffused in the air or inhaled directly influence their behaviors, moods and habits in ways unexpected. 

Essential oils used for aromatherapy create memories for many people, as well. 
Remember those cookies your mom/grandma/dad/grandad used to bake when you were little ? Can you smell the scent from them baking in the oven ?

So, I said, "Well, we don't have a strawberry essential oil, so why not make a lemon or an orange". She said, "But some people may like strawberry and they can put lemon or orange in it. They are all fruits."

Bath Salts and Essential Oils for relaxation and weight loss - easy recipe

If you have the luxury of sitting in a bath tub or even putting your feet in a small foot tub or basin, here is a recipe for relaxing those muscles, relieving tension and ultimately, weight loss.

DIY Bath Salt Recipe

In a bowl, mix and stir well:

• 1 1/3 cups of Epsom Salt
• 1/3 cup of sea salt
• 1 Tb baking soda
• 1 Tbs carrier oil (coconut, almond, etc) 
• 10-15 drops of essential oils.

This will make approx 2 cups.

Add 3-4 Tbs to bath water and soak. For a foot bath, use no more than 1 Tbs of Bath Salt mixture. Rinse off with a cool shower.

Keep mixture away from sun, heat and in a glass jar with tight lid.

A few sample Essential Oils to use - Lavender (soothing, calming), Grapefruit (cellulite, uplifting), Peppermint (muscle aches, fatigue), Cedarwood (depression, uplifting), Rosemary (headache, circulatory)

I grabbed this recipe off of Facebook - Essential Oils Herbs and Recipes

Uplifting Personal Blend for Daytime Use: 

2 drops Geranium 

2 drops Rosewood

2 drops Bergamot

Add 2 drops geranium, 2 drops rosewood and 2 drops bergamot to 6 teaspoons of our massage oil base (or any plain base/carrier oil). Wear as a fragrance, use for a gentle massage or inhale directly from the bottle.
